The best couple's costumes are related to a particular theme. The theme can be cartoons, famous people, or even food. The list is endless when you think about it. Nevertheless, it can be difficult to actually find the perfect costume for you and your partner.

When choosing costumes, pick a theme that reflects your interests or hobbies. If you like to watch movies, you may want to pick a couple that appeared in a recent movie.
Cartoon couples are fun and can really liven up the party. Of course, your choice of characters probably will also give away your age too. Perhaps characters that were popular when you were young are unknown by younger people. If you like classic cartoons, you may want to dress up like Hong Kong Phooey and while your partner may go as his cat, Spot. What about Mickey Mouse and Minnie or Tom and Jerry? You could even dress up as Pinkie and the Brain or two of the Animaniacs.
Go as a famous Hollywood couple. You don't even have to choose a modern day couple either. You could go as Marilyn Monroe and Joe Dimaggio or as another famous couple from Hollywood's golden age. Depending upon the ages of the other guests, you may want to choose a couple that is famous now. For example, Brangelina or Will Smith and Jada.
You can also attend as a famous historical couple. For example, Marc Anthony and Cleopatra. Or, you may want to go as King David and Bathsheba or even Sampson and Delilah.
Costumes based upon animated movies are a good idea too. Some ideas include Spongebob Squarepants and Sandy or Mister and Mrs.Potato Head from the Toy Story movie. Of course, Shrek and his lovely wife Fiona are always a good idea too. You may even want to go as Cinderella and Prince Charming !
People who enjoy reading may want to choose literary couples. These include Scarlett and Rhett as well as Romeo and Juliet. You may want to go as Sam and Frodo or even as characters from the "Narnia" books. Of course, Harry Potter and Ginny are another good choice. This is especially true if you will be attending a party with Harry Potter fans.
Choose common items that are usually matched together in everyday life. For example, salt and pepper or mustard and ketchup.
The biggest challenge is actually deciding on a costume theme. Once you have narrowed
down your options, it should be easy to choose a costume for both you and your partner. Then, all you need to do is find the items to create your costumes. This may mean purchasing your costumes online, or you may want to create them yourself. You may also find some very nice costumes at your local thrift store.
