Girls like to dress up and look nice, so if you are throwing a party for girls, you might want to throw a spa and makeover party for girls at least in late elementary or junior high and address-up party with the younger girls using toy-makeup.
There are several ways that a spa and makeover party could be set up. The best way is to set up stations. One station would be where the girls get their hair done. There should also be a vanity stand complete with a spray water bottle, hair curlers, possibly a curling iron and hair dryer as well. Another station would be for manicure and pedicure. A nail clipper, file, buffer, shiner and nail polish would be items that are required at this station. It would also be fun for the girls to try on fake nails as well. You or another mother could help out at this station too.
The next would be the make up station. This station stocks up facial cleaners, toners and lotions, as well as mascara and eye shadow, eyebrow pencil, various colors of lipstick, blush and other makeup products.
After everyone is dressed up, perhaps they will then be ready to participate in a fashion show. You can play some upbeat music while the girls sashay down an imaginary catwalk.
If you want to organize it on a community-wide scale, then you may consider hosting it at a school or local YWCA. Often you can rent a room or sometimes they may be willing to let you use it for free.
Another option would be to let the girls pretend to be famous movie stars or celebrities and they can take turns acting out a scene in a movie or pretend to be a famous performer singing a song.
Prizes could be given for the best-dressed and best talent. It could be like having a personal beauty pageant. The winner receives a crown, a bouquet and other appropriate beauty prize.
